DeleteSalesforce Spring '23 Release Action Items for RIO Education
#Salesforce Spring '23 release is coming in late January - February 2023. How will this affect #RIOEducation ?
One of the prominent features is the Enhanced Domain, which will impact features relying on the current instance domain. This will be turned on by Salesforce upon Spring '23 release on all production instance.
You can opt to delay the Enhanced Domain deployment for Spring '23, until latest by Winter '24 (likely to be October 2024), giving additional time to either test or prepare for the changes that Enhanced Domain will bring.

RIO Education now supports the ability to waive a student's Course (v3.11 onwards).
For example, if a student already has sufficient work experience on a subject and wants to skip it, you can set the Grade Result for the Course Connection as 'Waiver'.
You can set the credits earned (zero) to be ignored for GPA calculation, and the student will have to take another Course as a replacement.

Enhanced PE Discipline view
The PE Discipline (Majors) view has been improved in the 3.10.2 patch:
- Display highlight info such as 'Credits Required' and 'Credits Earned' for the PE Disciplines and Groups.
- Ability to filter and display PE Disciplines and optional Courses according to their completion status.

DeleteEvent reminder - RIO Education Housing
The RIO Education Housing package supports students looking to apply for housing/accommodation.
When a student applies for accommodation, a Housing record is created, which contains the student's information and preferences. The university then reviews this record and uses the Room Allocation Wizard to allocate suitable rooms to the student.

DeleteStudent Scheduler now supports Session Groups and shared Sessions
The Student Scheduler in version 3.10 now supports Session Groups, which will now show up under their respective Sessions, for users to assign students to.
The Student Scheduler now also supports shared Sessions, whereby if a class Session is shared by 2 different Courses, it will show both of them, thus allowing users to directly enroll students there.

In RIO Education version 3.10, you can now view a detailed breakdown of all the Term Grades in the My Results table, instead of navigating to each individual Course Connection record to view grades.

Convenient display of a Program's structure
Did you know, that you no longer need to navigate through each Plan Requirement record to check what's in your Program structure?
The Program Structure Overview wizard in version 3.10 now provides an instant and thorough overview of all the Plan Requirement Groups in a Program Plan, as well as the Courses under each group.

DeleteMy Majors component now available to internal users
Did you know, that as of our new RIO Education v3.10, the My Majors component is now available for internal users in the console view?
That's right! The My Majors component is now added in the PE Discipline tab, under Program Enrollment. Internal users can now select and enroll to Majors on a student's behalf, and view their progress in the console.
RIO Challenge v2 in the works
We are revamping RIO Challenge to include more features and use case scenarios!
What is RIO Challenge? It is a series of practical exercises on the RIO Education instance, which aims to develop our users' proficiency in using RIO Education. Users will get to use RIO Education's features such as the Session Scheduler and Transfer Credit Wizard to manage various scenarios in student management.
RIO Challenge is also an important part of our partner certification program.
RIO Challenge v2 is coming soon (ETA end of July 2022). Stay tuned for more updates and sneak peeks!
DeleteManual assignment now supported for credit transfer
Ever faced a scenario where a student is requesting a credit transfer, but your institution does not have an equivalent Course for an automatic transfer?
Check out our new v3.9 release, where you can now perform manual assignments!
For example, select the 'Manual Assignment' option in the Agreement Course record, to indicate that there is no Course for a direct automatic transfer.
Then, head to the Transfer Credits Wizard where you can manually enter the PE Group you want the credits assigned to, and approve the request.

DeleteOutgoing credit transfers now supported
Our new RIO Education v3.9 now supports outgoing credit transfers, where a student from your institution enrolls into Courses abroad, i.e. exchange programs.
To do an outgoing credit transfer, create a Transfer Agreement record in addition to the other records required for credit transfer. This will contain records such as details on the duration.

- Functional Consultant Certification - for partners with Business Analyst / Project Manager skillsets.
- Technical Consultant Certification - for partners with technical / developer skillsets.

For example, a Program Offering that comes in 2 different languages, with everything else being the same.
There are 2 ways to approach this:
- use a language-specific Course Offering.
- use a Single Course Offering and manage languages at the Session level.

No, a Program Offering actually relates Program Application and Account objects. Think of it as a "label", which helps you identify students who enrolled in a Program.
