Educational Institution Account
An educational institution is an account with record type = Educational Institution. This is the top level account under the EDA recommended hierarchy. It is also important to have the same structure defined in order for RIO Education to work properly:

Admin can also view the full hierarchy of account structure by clicking on the “View Account Hierarchy” button.
Here is the sample account hierarchy:
Grade Settings, Terms, and Time Blocks can be set up under the Educational Institution account.
Important fields
| Field | Description |
| Account Name | The name of this account, e.g. RIO University. |
| Account Record Type | The type of account (which is Educational Institution). |
| Parent Account | The parent to this account (which is blank, since Educational Institution should be the top in hierarchy). |
| EFTSL (Credit Points) | For admin to define the annual total credit points that a student needs to gain. This is an institution default value and will be used in Course to calculate the EFTSL. This can be overridden in University Department, Academic Program, and Program Plan. See: EFTSL |
