Academic Program Account Important fields

Academic Program Account


This account acts as a record of a Program, where students are enrolled to (or can apply to).


An academic Program is an account with record type = Academic Program. This is the 3rd level account under the EDA recommended hierarchy.

Academic Program can be linked to a university department account via “Parent Account” field.

  • Educational Institution.

    • University Department.

      • Academic Program.



Grade Settings, Program Plans, and Program Offerings can be set up under the Academic Program account.

Important fields

Field Description
Account Name The name of this account (e.g. Bachelor of Business Information System).
Account Record Type The type of account (which is Academic Program).
Parent Account The parent to this account (which is the University Department account).
Program Code Acts as an identifier for a Program. This will be used to define the name for Academic Program related Grade Settings.
Program Structure Type
This is used in reporting engine to identify the Commencing Program ID for AVETMISS reporting.

This is a picklist, whereby the value will be referenced by the related Program Enrollment and PE Pathway objects.
  • Full Program.
  • Subject Only (the Program Enrollments will be treated as Short Course Enrollments‍).
Program Entry Criteria Entry criteria that will be displayed to prospective students in the application process.
Application Fee Due Days
The number of days an application fee will be due, after it is generated.
Deposit Fee Due Days
The number of days a deposit fee will be due, after it is generated.
CIP Code (US Reporting)
The Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) provides a taxonomic scheme that supports the accurate tracking and reporting of fields of study and program completions activity.
Used for IPEDS reporting (6 digit format: xx.xxxx)
Qualification Type (US Reporting)
A picklist to denote the qualification type or level for this Program:
  • Doctoral Degree.
  • Masters Degree.
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Associate Degree.
  • Certificate.
Program Level (US Reporting)
Picklist options:
  • Undergraduate.
  • Graduate.
Activity Unit (US Reporting)
Picklist of the unit of measure for the instructional activity to be completed for the program of study.
  • Clock Hours.
  • Semester Credit Hours.
  • Trimester Credit Hours.
  • Quarter Credit Hours.
Activity Amount (US Reporting)
The amount of instructional activity to be completed for the program of study.
