Study Credits
This requires the Short Course Feature license.
Introduced in v3.12 as part of Continuing Education, the Study Credits object represents “vouchers” that can be used when buying a course (Study Offering).
Study Credits will offset the amount that needs to be paid for an individual course.
- Not to be confused with Discount Code, which is applied against the total amount of all the courses ordered.
For example, Universal Containers Inc. has bought some Study Credits for its employees to take some upskilling courses related to the IT field.
Employees from the company can use the Study Code to waive the course fees, when they register for any course from the Study Area of ‘Information technology and computer science’.
The Study Credits will be applied against the Order Line to offset its amount.
In this example here, Universal Containers Inc. has bought 5 Study Credits, for their employees to sign up for IT courses.
1 Study Credit has already been used by its employees when buying the course.
Study Credits can also be bought for a specific individual, rather than an entire organization. In this case, the Study Credits will need to specify a Contact (instead of an Account).

As of v3.18, institutions now have the ability to create a "Credit Note" for users where a class has been cancelled and a refund is not given.
For example:
-
A class is cancelled because the tutor is unavailable, but the class has already been booked. In this scenario, a user should either get a refund or a Study Credit.
- A student withdraws from a class, and rather than a refund, the institution may choose to give them Study Credits.
