[Functional] RIO Challenge v4 - C02.10 - Study Unit Co-Requisites

There can be situations where some courses need to be taken together. Students who wish to enroll in a certain course, will need to take another course alongside it as well.

Follow this exercise to see how to set up Co-Requisite requirements and logic.

Steps to complete the challenge

RIO University offers several music courses. Among these courses, MU107 and MU108 are closely linked, and students will benefit from taking both of them.

As the program administrator, you will need to set up a requirement, such that students who wish to enroll in MU107, will be made aware on the need to also enroll in MU108, and vice versa.

1. Click on the 'RIO Challenge V4' tab at the bottom left of the page. Click on 'Initiate Challenge' to generate the data required for this challenge.
    
    
2. From the App Launcher, search for ‘Study Units’. Select the list view ‘C02.10 - Co-Requisites’ and click to open the record created for this challenge.
   
    
3. The Study Unit is a record that represents a course.
   
   In this list we have narrowed down the view to just a handful of courses that are relevant to this Challenge.
   
   
    
4. Select the Study Unit ‘C02.10 - MU107 - Guitar I’.
   
   Create a new Study Unit Requirement with the information below:

Then, update the Study Unit with the new Study Unit Requirement.

5. The requirement setup for MU107 is complete.
   However, since MU107 is also a co-requisite for MU108, we need to set up the same requirement for MU108.
   
   Return to the list of Study Unit, and select the Study Unit ‘C02.10 - MU108 - Introduction to Contemporary Music I’.
   
    

6. Create a new Study Unit Requirement with the information below:

Then, update the Study Unit with the new Study Unit Requirement.

7. The requirements have been set up for both MU107 and MU108. Students who take either one of it, will need to also take the other.
   
   Let's test them out by enrolling a student to them.
   
   From the App Launcher or the navigation menu at the top of the page, go to the ‘Individual Program Enrollments’ tab.
   Select the list view ‘C02.10 - Co-Requisites’ and click to open the record created for this challenge.
   
    

8. While inside the Individual Program Enrollment record, navigate to the ‘Enrollments’ tab.
   Search for the Study Offering ‘MU107’ and click on the button to enroll.
   Notice the popup message, alerting the user that there are co-requisites that the student will need to enroll to MU108 as well.
    
    
9. Congratulations, you have completed the challenge! Click on the 'RIO Challenge V4' tab at the bottom left of the page, and click on 'Complete Challenge'.
