Steps to complete the challenge

RIO University recently introduced a new requirement students have to earned at least 10 credits from their program, before they can enroll in AC104.

As the program administrator, you will need to set up the new requirement for AC104, such that only students who have earned at least 10 credits are allowed to enroll.

  1. Click on the 'RIO Challenge Ivy' tab at the bottom left of the page. Click on 'Initiate Challenge' to generate the data required for this challenge.

  1. From the navigation menu at the top of the page, click on ‘Individual Program Enrollments’.

Then select the list view ‘C02.09 - Study Unit Credit Requirements’ and click to open the record created for this challenge.

  2. The Individual Program Enrollment is a record of a student's enrollment into a program.

Observe Study Unit C02.09 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies.
Notice that Fred Smith is able to enroll into AC104, since the requirement has not been set up yet.

  3. From the App Launcher at the top left of the page, search for ‘Study Unit’.

Then select the list view ‘C02.09 - Study Unit Credit Requirements’.

  4. The Study Unit is a record that represents a course.
In this list we have narrowed down the view to just a the courses that are relevant to this Challenge.

  5. Observe that there are currently no Requirement Settings for AC104.
Navigate to the Requirements tab, and create a new requirement with the information below:
Study Unit Requirement Name C02.09 - Credit 10
Study Unit C02.09 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies
Requirement ID CREDIT10
Requirement Type Credits
Credits 10

After creating the Study Unit Requirement, we will have to update the Study Unit with the new requirement.
Fill in the following information in the Study Unit record:

Requirement Description You must earn at least 10 Credit Points, before you can enroll into this.
Requirement Logic CREDIT10

  1. The requirements have been set up.

New students will need to have at least 10 credits earned, in order to enroll into AC104.

From the navigation menu at the top of the page, click on ‘Individual Program Enrollments’.

Then select the list view ‘C02.09 - Study Unit Credit Requirements’ and click to open the record created for this challenge.

  1. Observe Study Unit C02.09 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies again.
Notice that Fred Smith is still able to enroll into AC104.

Since AC104 is a required unit in the Study Plan ‘C02.09 - RIO Undergraduate Program Plan’, it will not take in the new requirements.

  1. Let's create a new Individual Program Enrollment for a new student - John Doe.
Since John is a new student, he will need to adhere to the new credit requirements.

From the navigation menu at the top of the page, click on ‘Individual Program Enrollments’.

Create a new Individual Program Enrollment record with the information below:
Contact C02.09 - John Doe
Study Program C02.09 - RIO Undergraduate Program
Study Plan C02.09 - RIO Undergraduate Program Plan
Study Pathway C02.09 - Full-Time
Starting Term C02.09 - Current Term

Observe Study Unit C02.09 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies again.
Notice that John Doe is unable to enroll into AC104 since he has yet to earn any credits as a new student.

  1. Congratulations, you have completed the challenge! Click on the 'RIO Challenge Ivy' tab at the bottom left of the page, and click on 'Complete Challenge'.
