Course Requirement
Course Requirement is an addition in RIO Education v3.6. It is created under Course and serves as a template with the purpose of speeding up the Program Course Requirement setup. The Course Requirement layout is very similar to the Program Course Requirement sheet.
Reusing the same example from the Program Course Requirement page:
Course ICT 221 has a pre-requisite requirement, which is to complete Course ICT 112 and Course ICT 115. Let's say ICT 112 is requirement A and ICT 115 is requirement B.
So to meet this criteria, we have to create two lines of Course Requirement, stating the requirement A as Requirement ID: A, and requirement B as Requirement ID: B, like this:
Column | Description |
Course Requirement Name | Specify the name of the Course Requirement. |
Requirement ID | It represents the Requirement Logic 'points' in the Plan Requirement Course. |
Requirement Type |
[ Pre-requisite / Co-Requisite / Credit Point / Other ] Define the type of the requirement. |
Credit Point |
The amount of Credit Points to be achieved by the student before enrollment eligibility is given. |
Other |
Marks the current requirement as a miscellaneous requirement, which means it won't be handled by RIO Education. Admins will have to personally assess the eligibility of a student. |
Course Ext ID |
Points to the Course that is to be the requirement. |
Parent Course Ext ID | Points to the Course that needs the requirement. |
The difference now is that there is no need for the Plan Requirement Course Ext ID column, replaced instead with the Parent Course Ext ID.
By creating the requirements at the Course level, any Course with the requirement information used in a Program Plan Requirement would automatically create Program Course Requirement using the new Course information.
