Description

When registering one or more users through the Self-Registration component, you are encountering this error: 

Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: OP_WITH_INVALID_USER_TYPE_EXCEPTION, Operation not valid for this user type: [], 

Resolution

Check if you are already logged in as a user by opening the home page of the portal.

You cannot register a new user through the Self-Registration form while you are already logged in, which is why you are encountering this error.

You must log out before registering a new user by using the Log Out button.

This may also be applicable if you are attempting to register multiple users at a time.

When you fill in and submit the Self-Registration form, the system creates an Account, Contact, and User for the student, and then automatically logs you in as that new user, before redirecting you to the home page of the portal.

So, you will need to ensure you are logged out as any other student first, before registering another one.
